Joshua House | Supported Toowoomba Accommodation
Joshua House Australia is a registered and fully accredited not-for-profit public company with Deductible Gift Recipient status. We are currently providing supported accommodation for aged (mostly men) and intellectually disabled adults in Toowoomba Queensland.
- We house people over the age of 18 (our oldest is 65) providing them with:
- Their own private or shared room containing a bed & bedding, wardrobe, bedside table.
- Residents may bring their own gear if they prefer. (Shared amenities).
- Delicious and nutritious meals - breakfast, morning tea, lunch and dinner - prepared and supervised by our onsite ala Carte Chef.
- Laundry is washed on-site by our Supervisors.
- 24 hour - 7 days per week live-in Supervisors.
- An on-site qualified Residential Services Manager who is also a Chef, Nurse and Jack of all trades.

Joshua House - Toowoomba Queensland
The JHA seed was planted back in 1994 when Gary Steen, a student at Rhema Bible College in Townsville and a chef by trade, joined the "Catering Committee" at Calvary AoG. A woman there opened a Boarding House for about a dozen aged people, and, in the initial setting up, enlisted the catering expertise of newly married Gary. Soon it becoming increasingly apparent to them both that there was not only a need for quality Christian care for elderly people, but also for other aged people with intellectual disabilities. read more..
In early 2003 the opportunity came for Joshua House to buy a larger premises to run the boarding house, so "Joshua House Australia Ltd," a public not-for-profit welfare organisation, was formed. An old nunnery was purchased in September 2003 and became the first "Joshua House." By July 2005 they fed & housed 17 people with mild intellectual disabilities. read more...
